Goodbye 2010

I was given a hint (ok, told) I needed to update my blog again (thanks B!) So here we go...

What a year it's been.

I think the one event that stands out the most is certainly our miscarriage in October. But back to that in a bit.

Robby & I both went through a few job changes. I quit CarMax in May and went to work at Rose Rock Vet to help out in their pet resort during the busy summer months. Left there in September and decided to start a pet sitting business. It's been a slow start, but that is very common. Slowly but surely, it's picking up and I already have several reservations made for spring. Luckily a few of my clients are very frequent travelers. Robby left Downtown Ford just weeks before they closed. He headed up to Bob Moore Subaru for a short time and then left for Joe Cooper Ford which is where he is at right now. This change is so much better. He's only a few miles from the house, good hours, better pay, and the best part...he's right across the street from Rose State's campus, so when he enrolls into UCO's bachelor program which is held at Rose, then it'll be easy for him to take classes and work at the same time.

We are both going back to school in the spring, again. Let's see how far we get this time! I should be able to finish mid-spring 2012 if I stay at it. I'll have a Bachelor of Arts in Administrative Leadership from OU (yay!) Robby will finish his Associates at Rose in March and then enroll in UCO. He'll be going part time, I believe, which means it'll take him a little longer to finish. But finishing is our goal! ;)

The dogs are all doing well, and for another year, we've filtered in and out of dogs for various reasons. Right now, we still have Skye (of course), Lexi, and Cloud. We adopted "V" from the animal shelter back in February and she's been a great add-in to the group. She likes to boss everyone around. Well, she tries to at least, they just ignore her, haha. She is the oldest of the bunch, though -- we estimate she's now around 7 years old and is certainly starting to grey all of a sudden. Just recently we brought home a 5 month old miniature dachshund who is absolutely the cutest thing I have ever seen. I've wanted one for a long time and Robby finally gave in....which is hilarious. He didn't think he'd like it at all, but guess who he now cuddles with at night? "Daisy"! She sleeps between us and goes back and forth all night deciding who to snuggle with. She'll sometimes crawl under the covers if she's cold, which is cute. She's a black & tan longhair, and has about the best personality ever! If I end up doing performance with her (and maybe even earthdog), she will definitely be ILP'd as "Twister Now or Never." Certainly how it is. I'll either do performance with her, or it'll likely never happen with anyone.

The end of August, we found out I was pregnant. When I went in for a checkup at 10 weeks, we found out we had lost the baby somewhere between 7 & 8 weeks. Had a D & C the next day, which wasn't too bad. I actually went to dinner with Robby & Bobby that night. Slept most of the time and had a bite of apple pie, but I was still there! After that it wasn't until Sunday (D & C was on a Wednesday) that I felt like getting out anywhere. I can't remember how many times I had to have my blood drawn to check my hcg count afterwards, but it finally went down to zero just over a month later.

Suppose that's all for now -- I'll update after the new year -- maybe with pics this time!

Let's hope for a better 2011.

YEAH! Thanks for the update. I'm happy you two are heading back to college and hopefully get your degrees finished. I like the background you have and will be eagerly awaiting the promised pics!

Love,
mom
