Welcome Miss Holly!
Robby and I added to our fur-family yesterday. We brought home a cute little pembroke welsh corgi. So far she's doing really well...the dogs don't mind her and Pumpkin thinks she's fun to pick on...but Holly got her back this evening. Now for the pics...!

And another week is over
We had a temporary LGM (location general manager) in this week. We're being told we'll have a new permanent one hired by the end of the month. Let's hope so! However, I did like his temporary LGM. He taught me a lot about my position in only a few days! Just hope that the next one is just as good.

Saaaaaturday!
Went to Hillcrest this morning and did statements. I picked up a cat carrier while I was there because mine is at mom & dad's house for some reason.
Left Hillcrest and went to Petsmart to get a couple cans of smelly cat food and a dual food/water dish, then headed up to Robby's work.
The past few days they've had a kitten running around the front lot area. Now, a refresher for those who aren't familiar. Robby works downtown. Across from the Ford Center...at the corner of Robinson & Reno. Can we say...BUSY BUSY area?! Not to mention there have been several events going on this week and going on into next week. Our biggest concern was the kitten going into traffic and getting run over. Goal number one was to not let that happen.
Robby had mentioned that kitten looked to be around 2 months old. When I pulled up and started getting the food ready, I heard it meowing. So I wandered around until I found it sitting on the curb a few cars down from me. As soon as it saw me, it darted away. But, I saw it long enough to see that it was younger than 2 months.
Larry, one of the salesmen up there (who also has an awesome book coming out next month...can't wait to read it) grabbed all of the keys for the cars the cat has typically been under and helped me open the hoods on all of them and look underneath. We were honking horns, shaking the cars, etc to see if it ran underneath them.
No luck there -- so I sat the food out where I had initially seen the cat, put the crate in another spot, and then went and hid out in the showroom for awhile -- sitting in a spot where I could see the places the kitty had typically been going. Fast forward a couple hours...people were starting to leave the event at the Ford Center so I decided to go out and sit on the curb. I had a feeling the cat wasn't up at the new cars, but rather out by some customer cars around where I had the food. So I sat down on a curb just across the parking lot and waited.
Forty-five minutes later I hear it meowing so I start walking around trying to figure out where it's coming from. I ran into Larry, who was coming back from lunch, and talked to him about his book. I happened to glance just over the banner promoting it and saw the kitten eating out of the bowl. Larry stayed behind the banner and I walked around to the other side.
It took about 15 minutes of each of us inching up slowly, stopping and letting the kitten come out and eat some more, then getting closer. I was finally able to grab it and after a little bit of a wrestle, I had it secure in my hands. Popped the little one in the crate and off we went.
It is in the front bedroom right now hiding behind the big stuffed bears -- but there's a litter box, plenty of fresh food and clean water, and some warm, soft bedding for it. I've been sneaking in there every now and then to check on it.
That's all for now -- I'll try to put a couple pics of it up later once it doesn't immediately run off when it sees me.

Rain, Rain, go away...
Because I hate cleaning muddy paws and the dogs get cabin (er...crate) fever! No one likes the rain now -- Sonny was the only one who would fight to stay out in it. Skye pouts, Lexi huddles under the tree, Cloud & Rainy...well, they do their own thing, but when it's time to come in, you better have the door open! Work is going absolutely, positively, awesome! I LOVE my new position. I have just the right amount of work, a ton of responsibilities, and from what I've heard (both direct and word-of-mouth feedback...) the managers and associates love that I am the new MA. The office required a ton of clean up and I'm still reorganizing things, including moving certain file cabinets in and out, shredding files, etc.
We have two new tiny additions to the house. They're not named, yet - but - they are finches. A society and a zebra. Totally adorable and have the cutest little noises. The dogs have stopped bugging them as much -- the cat is a different story....which leads me to this...
The first night we brought them home, we had bought a temporary cage until I could locate a big flight cage for them. Well, we set the temp cage on top of one of the smaller curio cabinets we have. Lizzie jumped up on the TV stand and was watching the birds. Next thing we know, she takes a flying leap at the cage, grabs onto the side, knocks the cage to the floor...and somehow throughout this whole series...the cage doors fly open and the birds are loose in the house. Robby grabbed Lizzie, I grabbed Skye (who was trying to catch the birds...) We got Skye put outside to keep her out of the way. In the mean time, the birds are flying around the kitchen and dining room (which is where the dog crates are...since it's right next to the back door.) They sit on Lexi's crate, fly INTO Cloud's crate...and let me tell you...I am SOOOOO glad my dogs know and respect "Leave It." Robby and I both shouted it at the same time when we saw what the birds were doing - so the dogs just sat back in their crates and wouldn't even look at the birds. The society was easy to catch, but the zebra took some work. We finally found him hiding behind the fridge! Luckily not 48 hours later, I had found a flight cage. So we got them transferred there. They are so happy in it! And there's no chance of the cat letting them out again. =)

Update. Finally.
So I've been busy! What's new? lol
Went to Tulsa yesterday for training on my new position. It was pretty good and I got a lot of questions answered. Now to just get into work tomorrow and try to put those answers to use.
Dogs are enjoying the rain and are showing it very well. They come in covered in mud every time. Rainy stays out with Skye at night. Her spot is on the loveseat. Cloud gets to play during the day while we're home - he's such a lovebug. He'd be out at night as well, but he's going through a chewing stage right now. Lexi, well - she's just Lexi. She gets bed privileges every now and then.
School is crazy - ready for it to be over. It's a heck of a lot of work. Don't think I'll be doing two classes per fast track again.
Got my Glamour Shots pics in the mail today. Goooorgeous! I love how they turned out.

Three day weekend!
Tuesday, September 8, 2009
Busy...Busy...Bu...you get the idea.
So - going into my third week of school. There's an insane amount of work, though. I'm keeping caught up in my leadership class fairly well, but humanities...I have fallen behind on already! Not too bad, I just haven't done my essays. I already told the prof I would be turning them in late, so hopefully it doesn't affect my grade too bad. They're just so dang hard. A minimum of five pages long...with a minimum of five resources...yikes! And two of those...every two weeks.
On a lighter note...the other dogs are all doing well. We took the loveseat from mom & dad's house and put it in our bedroom. Rainy has claimed it as "her's" and stretches out on it before anyone else can climb up there. Everyone got baths over the weekend so they're all nice and clean smelling...and the pyrs are nice and white!
Work is staying busy -- I'm on four 10 hour days every other week so I can have more time to do school work. The opposite week has a weird schedule, but it puts me at having 2 1/2 days off, instead of just two, so I won't argue with that. There is a possibility I may be transferring to the MA (management assistant) position within the next few weeks. I'm going to discuss the position more with the current person, plus my two bosses (my manager, and the LGM) tomorrow and see if I can get the go-ahead to put in my transfer request. The hours would be better, and likely the pay too.
(Scenty's September Warmer of the Month)Scentsy is awesome - absolutely love the company and the products. Still trying to get some promo stuff out there right now, but orders are slowly starting to develop. The hardest part is getting started!
